Japonica series has started in March, 2018.   Sumi-ink and water color on rice paper mounted on canvas.

The works below are the ones I created for my first year in New York.   I was overwhelmed by New York City. I couldn't blend in with everyone and felt alienated. I missed Japan, and naturally, an ukiyo-e that I knew well appeared in my work.

As a Japanese, I was looking for what I could do for the New York art scene.
